Libertine FPE (“Libertine”), creator of clean power generation technology for renewable fuels, has further strengthened its executive management team with the appointment of Steve Cummins as Engineering Director, effective 27th September 2021.
Steve joins Libertine following three years as Managing Director of Nidec SR Drives Ltd, the European division of Nidec’s Drive Systems business. During his time at Nidec, Steve led the UK team and was an integral part of the team that took the business through its restructuring in September 2018.
Steve Cummins says: “After working closely with Libertine on early generations of its linear e-machine and control technology platform whilst at Nidec, I’m very excited to now join the senior team, helping to deliver the engineering programmes that will see Libertine’s technology integrated into Linear Generator products by a growing list of international OEM clients.”

Steve’s career has included scientific roles with the British Antarctic Survey, product development with The Technology Partnership, and over twenty years in both development and managerial roles in the motors & drives business with Emerson and Nidec. He has served as a Company Director since 2014.
